General Description
The Manager of Center Operations oversees planning, daily operations, and evaluation of assigned Head Start centers. The role ensures compliance with program standards while delivering high-quality educational programming. The Manager supervises Center Managers, Site Supervisors/Lead Teachers, and Education Specialists, integrating operational leadership with educational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Supervision: Supervise and support center staff, develop professional plans, recruit, onboard, and train staff.
- Educational Oversight: Ensure curriculum fidelity and adherence to Head Start Performance Standards, analyze child assessment data.
- Coaching & Training: Collaborate on staff training, provide in-class coaching, conduct site visits and evaluations.
- Operational Management: Oversee center operations, ensure timely reporting, monitor budgets, and address community concerns.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work with Regional Director and stakeholders; maintain a professional communication standard.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education, Education Administration or related field (Master’s preferred), minimum 3 years of experience in Head Start or center operations, familiarity with CLASS, curriculum implementation and coaching.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Sound knowledge of early childhood education best practices and regulatory standards.
- Ability to analyze data to inform instruction and operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ChildPlus.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Certifications & Environmental Conditions
Includes required TB screening, First Aid, Pediatric CPR, annual training, driving record requirements, and various curriculum/course certifications. Work involves office and classroom settings with frequent travel and occasional evening/out-of-town work.
