About the role
Systems Architect I Tech Lead (Remote)
Everforth ECS is seeking an experienced NIH NIAID Enabling and Advancing Technologies (NEAT) Systems Architect I to work remotely providing custom development services in support of core task Enterprise Product Management and responds to a wide range of projects and special needs related support for CIB’s mission. Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.
Role Overview
The NIAID NEAT Systems Architect I serves as the Tech Lead and provides custom development services in support of core task Enterprise Product Management and responds to a wide range of projects and special needs related support for CIB's mission. The Systems Architect establishes system information requirements using analysis from information engineers in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems. Designs architecture to include software, hardware, and communications to support total requirements, as well as provides for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces. Ensures that systems are compatible and in compliance with standards for open systems architectures. Evaluates analytically and systematically problems of workflows, organization, and planning and develops appropriate corrective action.
Key Responsibilities
- Establishes system information requirements based on engineer analysis.
- Designs architecture to support software, hardware, and communication requirements.
- Ensures system compatibility and compliance with open system architecture standards.
- Analyzes workflow problems and develops corrective actions.
- Provides daily supervision and direction to staff.
- Integration between Enterprise Clinical Informatics Systems (COTS or Custom)
- Development of Enterprise Clinical Informatics Systems when COTS does not exist or meet NIAID's requirements.
Required Skills
- Expertise in system architecture design.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate workflows and develop corrective actions.
- Knowledge of open system architecture standards.
- Prior experience in providing daily supervision and direction to staff.
- Proficiency in using analytical tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security or related field.
- Active Public Trust or higher security clearance.
- Minimum 6 years’ experience supporting Health IT software development initiatives leveraging Agile and DevOps/DevSecOps practices leading cross-functional teams.
- Reside within the Washington DC Metro area.
- Travel within the Washington DC Metro Area, and CONUS as needed.
