About the Azure Cloud Engineer Role
ECS is seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer to join a growing Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, and AI/ML team in support of a government multi-cloud environment with 50+ customer tenants. This is a remote position supporting all phases of development, design, modernization, and rapid development of Azure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise using Azure best practices for designing cloud solutions.
- Develop complex cloud solutions ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
- Create proofs of concept and advise on optimal use of Azure services.
- Design and maintain cloud architecture standards, best practices, and security guidelines.
- Provision and manage Azure cloud services and monitoring, including OS and application-level patching.
- Leverage tools like GitLab CI, Terraform, and Ansible in solution design.
- Mentor junior architects and engineers, and lead troubleshooting for performance issues.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Ensure solutions incorporate high availability, disaster recovery, and compliance measures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 7+ years of integration, systems analysis, or programming experience.
- 5+ years experience in developing Azure system requirements and design specifications.
- 3+ years project management or lead architect roles in Azure development.
- Strong expertise in GitLab, Terraform, and Ansible.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to produce clear technical documentation.
- US Citizenship and ability to obtain DHS Public Trust Security Clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
Desired Skills
- Azure certifications such as DP-203, AZ-204, AZ-500.
- Experience with other cloud platforms and familiarity with SharePoint.
- Previous experience supporting DHS is a plus.
