Job Description

ECS Tech Inc is seeking a Structural Engineer to work in our Silver Spring, MD office.

The candidate will support various new ship design and construction programs under the NOAA Fleet Recapitalization efforts.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preliminary ship design studies
  • Engineering analyses on ship’s structure
  • Conducting trade-off studies
  • Equipment foundation calculations
  • Contract validation and technical writing
  • Drawing review and modification
  • Specification development and construction oversight

Additional duties include ship checks, acquisition document development, and travel to vendors, shipyards, and NOAA locations (including potential overseas travel).

Note: This position requires a minimum of 3 days per week in the Silver Spring, MD office.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000. For benefits, please visit our benefits page.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of Naval Architectural experience in ship design
  • BS in Naval Architecture/Marine or related engineering discipline
  • Experience with AutoCAD, ShipConstructor, GHS, Rhino, and similar software
  • Strong technical skills, specification review, and writing experience
  • Ability to ensure vessel designs meet regulatory standards
