Overview
ECS Tech Inc is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Stennis, MS location to support the National Data Buoy Center mission. The role involves full lifecycle product development, engineering design, configuration management, and coordination with multiple teams, with a specific focus on ocean environment applications.
Responsibilities
- Perform full lifecycle product development (design, develop, test prototypes, manufacture).
- Design ocean depth enclosures for various instrumentation.
- Manage configuration of designs and test procedures using Vault software.
- Formulate and manage project activities including budgets and performance.
- Coordinate with agency departments for design, testing, and implementation.
- Oversee procurement including writing specifications and evaluating proposals.
- Interact with machinists, welders, and project managers on buoy integration.
- Create and deliver design review presentations.
Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical, Ocean or Marine Engineering or related field.
- 2+ years in electromechanical systems design in a marine environment.
- Knowledge of engineering concepts, principles, and techniques.
- Experience integrating new technologies into operational systems.
- Proficiency in CAD 3D modeling software such as AutoCAD Inventor.
- Experience in creating engineering drawing packages and performing FEA analysis.
- Ability to maintain technical documentation and effective communication with diverse teams.
