Job Overview

ECS Tech Inc is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work in our Silver Spring, MD office. The candidate will work on shipboard mechanical systems and contribute to the design and development of procurement specifications for research ships.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate design for shipboard piping and mechanical systems.
  • Evaluate vendor proposed system designs and technical papers.
  • Assess piping system design using PipeFlow.
  • Review and modify drawings for technical completeness.
  • Develop ship alteration packages and conduct material inspections.

Additional Duties

Occasional travel to vendor sites, shipyards, and NOAA locations, including overseas trips. Candidates must be in office in Silver Spring, MD a minimum of 3 days a week.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Mechanical/Marine or related engineering discipline.
  • 6-10+ years’ experience in shipbuilding mechanical engineering.
  • Expertise in system design calculations and verification.
  • Experience with ShipConstructor, PipeFlow, Rhino, Navisworks, SolidWorks and other ship design software.
  • Understanding of ABS, USCG, and IMO regulatory standards.

Compensation & Benefits
