Position Overview

ECS Tech Inc is seeking a Data Engineer/Architect to work in our San Diego, CA office. This position is contingent upon additional funding.

About the Role

You will be a core member of the team responsible for designing, building, and managing the Common Digital Foundation (CDF)—a secure and interoperable data platform. Your work will ensure the CDF remains VAULTIS compliant (visible, accessible, understandable, linked, trustworthy, interoperable, and secure) and scalable for current and future customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement a scalable data architecture for the CDF.
  • Create and manage robust pipelines from diverse data sources.
  • Develop standards and procedures for data governance.
  • Recommend appropriate technologies and tools.
  • Ensure data quality through rigorous validation processes.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and scientists for reliable data solutions.
  • Design effective data storage solutions using cloud and on-premise tech.
  • Document data architecture, pipelines, catalog, and ETL capabilities.

Qualifications

  • 10-15+ years of experience in data engineering and architecture.
  • Proficient in SQL and at least one programming language (Python, Java, etc.).
  • Experience with data visualization, warehousing, ETL frameworks, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Proven track record in establishing data governance and security standards.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Degree in Computer Science or related field; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Secret Clearance required.

Salary & Benefits
