Systems Engineer

ECS Tech Inc is seeking a Systems Engineer to work in our Arlington, VA office. This role involves working in a Department of Defense (DoD) Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment at a contractor facility.

Role and Responsibilities

The Systems Engineer will:

• Deploy and maintain a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment.
• Collaborate with the project manager to maintain the project schedule.
• Ensure continuity of operations for components and applications.
• Handle repairs, upgrades, patches, and vulnerability mitigations.
• Install, configure, and monitor DoD tools like ESS and ACAS.
• Implement DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
• Control changes as per configuration management plan.
• Monitor and analyze logs and vulnerabilities following DoD policy.
• Create and update virtual desktop and server images.
• Analyze system performance and act on corrective measures.
• Backup components adhering to the contingency plan.
• Deploy and utilize SolarWinds applications.
• Manage and resolve customer tickets.
• Evaluate and test products based on mission requirements.
• Participate in incident response and security assessments.
• Support Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities.
• Produce and update required documentation.
• Foster teamwork and collaboration.
• Conduct other duties as needed.

Technical Skills

Candidates should master:

• Windows engineering (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, SQL, etc.)
• Hypervisors such as Nutanix Acropolis and VMWare
• SolarWinds, ESS, ACAS, STIGs, SCAP
• Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD)
• Citrix ADC
• Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
• Wyse Management Suite (WMS)

Qualifications

Applicants must have a Bachelor's Degree, an active DoD Secret clearance (or higher), and working knowledge of DISA STIGs. Must demonstrate a professional attitude, strong customer-facing and communication skills, and troubleshooting expertise with Windows Operating systems. Certification requirements include one Windows certification and one of the following: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP. Additionally, candidates should qualify for DoD IAT Level II within 6 months of hire.
