Overview

ECS Tech Inc is seeking a Systems Engineer II (VMware) to work in our Pocatello, ID or Huntsville, AL office. This role is responsible for design, deployment, testing, certification, patching, and addressing interoperability issues within VMware environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support on-premises cloud infrastructure.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for VMware environments.
  • Create and maintain a software defined data center infrastructure.
  • Automate provisioning and configuring of server resources.
  • Evaluate and maintain information security in virtualized environments.
  • Monitor and resolve storage issues and performance bottlenecks.
  • Install, configure, test, and maintain system management tools.
  • Ensure high levels of systems availability and performance.
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to boost system efficiency.
  • Provide 3rd level support and liaise with vendors for problem resolution.
  • Maintain technical documentation for all systems.
  • Integrate systems with Windows and Linux, including multi factor authentication solutions.
  • Document system configurations and provide real-time resource reporting.

Qualifications

  • Must have a current Top-Secret Clearance and ability to obtain SCI/CI-Poly.
  • VMware Data Center Virtualization certification within the last 5 years (or ability to obtain).
  • 8+ years of related IT experience.
