Sr. Data Scientist Position at ECS Tech Inc

ECS Tech Inc is seeking a Sr. Data Scientist to work in our Fairfax, VA office, contingent upon contract award.

Role Overview

This role focuses on leveraging Elasticsearch and advanced techniques like Vector Search to optimize query performance and accuracy for clients. You will consult with customers, lead enterprise search projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize advanced techniques such as Vector Search for improved relevance.
  • Spearhead complex Enterprise Search projects in diverse environments.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, and product managers.
  • Consult with clients to understand business objectives and challenges.
  • Provide strategic feedback for improving client environments.
  • Design and implement strategies to enhance query performance.
  • Provide training on search optimization techniques.
  • Manage high-level vendor interactions to resolve challenges.
  • Lead training sessions and knowledge-sharing workshops.
  • Offer strategic insights for automating routine tasks.
  • Stay updated with advancements in Elasticsearch and related tech.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Elasticsearch across Observability, Search, and SIEM.
  • Willingness to obtain a US Security Clearance.
  • Experience with large-scale systems and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Proficient in Python, SQL and developing custom scripts for Elasticsearch.
  • Familiarity with Solr, Lucene, or Apache Kafka.
  • Ability to travel as needed to customer sites.
  • Must be a US Citizen per contract.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security or related field (experience considered).
