Your Opportunity
EBSCO is seeking a Jr Governance, Risk and Compliance Intern to join its Governance team. Interns will work with e‑journals, e‑books, and research databases supported by cutting‑edge discovery technology.
What You'll Do
Security & Risk Activities:
- Conduct vulnerability assessments across cloud and on‑prem environments.
- Support development and implementation of security controls in dev and production ecosystems.
- Assist with maintaining security and privacy policies, standards, and procedures.
- Participate in incident response exercises and investigations.
Governance, Compliance & Vendor Activities:
- Support Vendor Risk Management processes.
- Review customer contracts, RFPs, renewals, and documentation for security/privacy requirements.
- Collaborate with EBSCO Legal to interpret contractual obligations.
- Map controls across multiple security and privacy frameworks.
- Conduct audit reviews and record results in the Risk Register.
Learning & Development
Gain exposure to modern security tools and operational processes while building critical problem‑solving skills. Work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment with regular coaching and feedback, laying a foundation for a career in cybersecurity, GRC, or risk management.
About You
You are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related fields. You have a basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts and demonstrate effective teamwork, independence, and a keen interest in risk, compliance, and security governance.
