About the role
Senior Design Automation Engineer
Eaton is seeking a Senior Engineer - Design Automation to join their team. This role involves providing expert front-end systems support for automation projects, collaborating with product line engineers, and developing automation scripts to enhance the utilization of design automation modules. You will serve as a liaison for automation requests, promoting best practices within design automation modules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Legacy Software Maintenance & Technical Support: Support and maintain existing legacy software systems, providing technical support to manufacturing teams and troubleshooting software issues.
- Electrical Drawing Automations & Process Improvement: Develop and maintain software to automate electrical drawings and optimize plant processes, enhancing productivity and reducing costs.
- Digitalization & Deployment Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance the plant's digitalization initiatives, assist in the local deployment of software solutions, and ensure smooth implementation and integration.
- Training & Documentation: Schedule and conduct end-user training sessions, create and maintain comprehensive documentation for software systems, including user manuals and technical guides.
- Project Execution & Communication: Oversee the execution of systems projects, manage timelines and resources efficiently, and communicate progress and updates to plant staff, ensuring transparency and engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends and best practices, recommending and implementing software system improvements.
