The Senior Power Systems Engineer at Eaton Corporation integrates and optimizes power system elements to align with business goals. The role focuses on keeping power systems safe, efficient, reliable, and up to date.
Main Responsibilities
This role involves providing applied engineering and technical consultation for customers in areas including power system studies, design, installation, startup, maintenance, repair, and training. The candidate will manage projects, conduct various studies, and develop technical proposals including:
- Short-Circuit Analysis
- LV/MV Protective Device Coordination studies
- Arc Flash studies
- Field Data Collection and equipment evaluation
- Technical proposals and pricing development
- Mentoring junior engineers
- Customer training on arc flash and electrical safety
Required Qualifications
A strong understanding of power distribution system equipment and design is essential. Key minimum qualifications include:
- Associate's degree from an accredited institution
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years (for Associate's) or 5-7 years (for Bachelor's/Master's) of industry experience
- Experience with Short-Circuit, Coordination, and Arc Flash studies
- Proficiency in SKM, ETAP, and EasyPower software
- PE License and active IEEE membership
