Job Overview

The Out Gate Clerk Customer Service Rep will work in a fast-paced office environment handling the import community. The role involves servicing customers via phone and email, providing up-to-date information and problem solving support.

Main Responsibilities

  • Accept Safeway chassis returns from outside carriers.
  • Communicate daily with customers regarding delivery orders and warehouse/Customs moves.
  • Ensure cargo is not released prior to US Customs clearance.
  • Prepare and check charges meticulously before sending to customers.
  • Coordinate with dispatch team on customer expectations.
  • Answer customer and US Customs inquiries via phone and email.
  • Verify driver documentation such as licenses and registrations.
  • Check system for cargo release, payment of charges, and freight release presence.
  • Print, scan, file out-gate paperwork and provide copies to drivers.
  • Follow up on driver pickup issues via calls or emails.
