Earthjustice’s Social Media team is seeking a Summer 2026 Social Media Intern. We are seeking undergraduate students who share a passion for justice and a healthy environment. The intern will work on social media support for our communications campaigns by monitoring social media conversations, researching partners and creators, drafting social media materials, and more.
The Summer 2026 Social Media Intern is expected to work 12-24 hours/week for 8-12 weeks. The successful candidate may work remotely from the U.S. or on a hybrid schedule from our New York, NY or San Francisco, CA office.
What You’ll Do as a Social Media Intern
- Monitor social media trends and conversations related to Earthjustice’s work.
- Conduct research for strategic partnerships.
- Draft social media materials, support weekly reporting and analytics, and more.

What You’ll Bring
- Will be enrolled in a college/university program as a junior or senior during fall 2026.
- Interest or experience in climate and environmental justice.
- Working knowledge of online research.
- Familiarity or interest in communications and advocacy campaigns through social media.
- Excellent written communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated commitment to Earthjustice’s values of Justice, Excellence, Inclusion, and Partnership.
Physical Requirements
This role may require the ability to:
- Sit for extended periods with occasional standing and walking.
- Type, file, and/or handle office equipment.
- Lift and carry materials.
- Read documents, conduct computer work and document review.
Compensation
Interns at Earthjustice receive an hourly rate that is considered taxable income. The summer 2026 hourly rate for undergraduate students is $19.18.
