Overview
As an Operations Analyst, your work will involve monitoring the DTCC clearing fund, assessing settlement risk, reconciling and clearing same-day settlement trades, and balancing bank figures. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with teams across treasury, technology, and operations. Success in this fast-paced environment requires a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day Fixed Income Ops workflow, primarily working with the repo desk allocating and managing financing positions.
- Mitigating credit risk by monitoring Treasury and MBS exposure and funding margin calls through cash and collateral.
- Oversee trade monitoring and reconciliation of the firm's repo positions to minimize settlement risk and ensure prompt settlements.
- Ensure Repo trading activity is accurately imported into the back-office system and submitted to DTCC.
- Serve as a liaison between both internally (Front Office, Middle Office, Risk) and externally (custodians, counterparties, 3rd party vendors, etc.).
- Optimize end-of-day balances at both BMO and BNY banks.
- Maintain and update financial records for management team.
- Support with MBS rolls, pairoffs, confirming voice broker trades, and the opening and closing of new trades.
- Verify GCF trade details and reconcile them with DTCC records.

Requirements
- 4+ years of Fixed Income (US Treasuries and MBS) experience in a detail-oriented role in the financial markets industry, ideally in an operations capacity.
- Undergraduate degree in relevant field (e.g., Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science).
- Experience with Excel required; experience with VBA, SQL and/or scripting (i.e Python) preferred.
- High level of critical thinking and strong communication skills.
- Proven track record of success both in team settings and working independently.
- Execute routine tasks with precision and consistent reliable results.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks concurrently.
- Process a strong understanding of broader business context and ability to anticipate downstream effects.
- Expected start time of 7am ET, with potential coverage as early as 6am ET.
- SIE and Series 7 or willingness to obtain within first year.
