Role and Responsibilities

As a Casual Academic Demonstrator (Casual Grade 5) at Durham University, you will:

  • Guide students in experimental laboratory, computing classes, workshops, or similar sessions.
  • Assist the class leader including developing enhanced experiments.
  • Support in the delivery of classes and maintain safe working practices.
  • Attend annual briefings and training sessions for demonstrators.
  • Support the class supervisor in running sessions and monitoring student conduct.
  • Potentially mark log books, field trip reports, problems and lab scripts.
