Position Overview
The SMP Estimator at Duratec is responsible for preparing, presenting, and delivering Defence tenders up to $200 million. This role demands expertise in fuel, water, and piping applications, and offers flexible work arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and develop accurate cost estimates and cost escalation analysis
- Compile material quantity take-offs to generate bills of quantities
- Support construction methodologies, programs, and submission documentation
- Develop estimates from first principles using site productivity rates
- Issue RFIs for any additional information needed
- Review designs, engineering specifications, and subcontractor pricing
- Deliver detailed tenders and support pre-contract and delivery phases
- Coordinate team activities and participate in cost estimate review meetings
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to maintain positive relationships
About You
You should have experience in engineering and resource industries with first-principle experience in hydraulic/mechanical piping and equipment. Experience in the Defence sector, construction, process/non-process infrastructure, and water/wastewater treatment is preferred. Additionally, strong financial and commercial acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask are essential. Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or a similar field are required.
