About The Role
As a Senior Product Writer, you’ll join a culture of creativity and craft, where we have a high bar for excellence and an endless curiosity about how to bring more unexpected quirk and fun to the pursuit of learning.
You will...
- Give voice to Duolingo’s features and functionality, writing in the Duolingo voice and from the perspective of characters like Lily and Oscar
- Drive the messaging, content strategy, and naming for product experiences, landing on pithy turns of phrase that land with our learners
- Partner with product designers and product managers on new features and interactions based on data and insights
- Design new pathways to content, make existing features better, and craft fun, new ways for our learners to unlock knowledge
- Focus on a few projects at a time and drive their content strategy
- Run experiments and share insights so your wins can have a greater impact
- Work with our localization team to ensure A+ translation
- Report to the Director of Product Writing. We sit within the Design department, the instrumental creative partner in most projects at Duolingo
You have...
- A brain that’s always buzzing with ideas
- A portfolio with compelling UX writing examples for a consumer app
- Experience in both UX writing and consumer copywriting
- A gift for expressing complicated things in plain language
- An ability to adapt your writing for different voices
- Experience taking a leadership stance, whether in title or behavior
- The ability to work from or relocate to Pittsburgh, PA or New York City
