Overview

DualEntry is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build complex AI accounting and fintech products. As a part of an elite team, you will architect features and systems end-to-end while deploying production-ready releases every day.

Role Impact

This role matters in modernizing outdated accounting software. DualEntry is the AI-native ERP for Finance, and you will have the opportunity to directly build the first true AI accounting product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build core backend systems using Python.
  • Develop APIs, services, and infrastructure for real-time complex accounting logic.
  • Launch production-ready features, including CI/CD pipelines and deployments.
  • Integrate third-party tools and manage edge cases and risk.
  • Own your work from architecture to testing and monitoring.

Collaboration & Work Culture

You will work independently with product teams, founders, and frontend engineers to co-design and implement features. The team values high-speed development and clear ownership with daily deployments.

What Sets You Up for Success

  • 8+ years of backend engineering experience.
  • Expertise in Python and modern web frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, or Django).
  • Experience with AWS and strong database skills (PostgreSQL, SQL, ORMs).
  • Ability to build and test robust APIs with production-readiness in mind.
  • Fluent English with strong communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $110K–$175K USD
  • Equity: ~$50K+ USD
  • 15 PTO days + 12 public holidays
  • B2B contract with full employment contract option
  • Remote-first setup with periodic in-person meetups
  • Visa sponsorship available for relocation to NYC within 2 years
