About the role

Network Engineer Lead

DTN is seeking a Network Engineer Lead to join the DTN IT team and lead our Network & Connectivity Services team as we provide a world-class operational decisioning platform. The chosen individual must possess a senior-level network engineering background and have experience with both physical and cloud network architectures and cloud migrations. You will work closely with the DTN IT staff to develop a deep understanding of DTN networks, processes, architecture, and controls. You will report to the Head of IT on network status, projects, planning, security, and process improvements at DTN.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Oversee the design and management of DTN’s physical and cloud network infrastructure, including multiple internet connections, multiple firewalls, Cisco/Arista core infrastructure, extranet connections, a multicast backbone, load balancers, web application firewalls, and multiple wireless LAN’s.
  • Oversee the design and management of the network integrity and security, which includes VPN connectivity, firewall rules, and network security audits.
  • Oversees the design and management of overall IT network system(s) performance.
  • Oversee the design and management of hardware and software installations, maintenance, upgrades, and configurations.
  • Oversee the design and management of the network failover integrity.
  • Drive projects and respond to requests as needed.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Minimum of 10 years of IT experience or equivalent work experience.
  • Possess technical understanding of communications networks, including protocols, network components, design elements, and architecture.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with Local and Wide Area Networks, and related network security devices.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with design and troubleshooting of TCP/IP, internal routing protocols, multicast, and BGP.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with each of the following platforms: Cisco Layer 2 and Layer 3 Switches, Cisco Routers, Cisco ASA Firewalls, Cisco VPN: Site-to-site and Anyconnect client, F5 Load Balancers, Cisco/Meraki Wireless, Palo Alto Firewalls.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with internetwork design, implementation, and fault isolation.
  • Understanding of how to perform problem isolation and troubleshooting in complex environments.
  • Experience planning strategically and tactically for future needs while ensuring that processes are in place to monitor current usage.
  • Experience handling multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Have the ability to communicate efficiently and effectively.
  • Be able to apply networking concepts to contribute to the development of the company’s strategies or principles to achieve objectives in effective ways.
  • Experience applying knowledge of emerging technology trends and best practices to show the potential business application of technology improvements.
