Team Description

The Dropbox Design & Research Team creates effortless experiences by combining research insights and thoughtful design. The team tackles complex problems using iterative design and deep user research to ensure technology feels intuitive and joyful for users.

Role Description

As a Staff Design Program Manager on the Core Design team, you will drive high impact product initiatives from conception to launch. Partnering with design leadership, product designers, PMs, and engineers, you will establish clarity through effective rituals and processes. Your strong design acumen allows you to translate design strategy into actionable plans while evolving systems and operating processes.

Responsibilities

  • Program Strategy & Delivery: Drive large, complex product and design features from inception through launch.
  • Design Acumen: Facilitate design crits and ensure quality operations are in place.
  • XFN Collaboration: Partner with design, PM, and engineering leaders to align on goals and planning.
  • Rituals & Quality: Optimize design crits, reviews, and quality practices without slowing progress.
  • Process Improvement: Operationalize scalable processes and frameworks to support team best practices.
  • Visibility & Communication: Maintain clear tracking and reporting across design initiatives.

Requirements

You should have 8+ years in program management within product design organizations. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who also executes plans effectively, builds strong relationships with leadership, and has a track record of shipping large scale product and design features. Familiarity with Figma, design specs, prototypes, design crits, and core design principles is essential. Experience in optimizing design team rituals and operations, coupled with strong communication skills, is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with AI-powered design tools, leading remote design efforts across time zones, and supporting vision projects is a plus.

Compensation

This role is available for US Zones 2 and 3. For US Zone 2, the expected salary range is $189,700 to $256,700 USD, and for US Zone 3, the range is $168,600 to $228,200 USD. Compensation is determined based on location, level, and skillset.
