Job Summary
The Project Control Manager implements defined control structures and processes for the Project integrating scheduling, risk, change management, document control, and costing activities. This role provides clear and timely visibility of project performance, enabling rapid and effective decision-making and control actions on an informed basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain an accurate assessment of project section status at all times and provide reports to the Lead Project Controls Manager for consolidation to the Project Director and Client.
- Implement defined processes and systems to control the project.
- Develop an integrated hierarchy of schedules for the project section, integrated with the Master Programme, and ensure accurate progress reporting.
- Ensure an accurate assessment of risk and contingency allowance is maintained for the project section.
- Report resource requirements for the section through schedule integration.
- Report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for performance at the section level.
- Implement the system for early warning of emerging risks or issues.
- Prepare formal and ad hoc reports of section progress for integration into the monthly Project Report, covering: progress against schedule and trend, actual cost vs. budget and trend, live risk register, contingency spend vs. risk, and early warnings/recommended action.
- Ensure the section schedule fully recognizes the requirements for consents and approvals.
- Implement the document control strategy and system.
- Develop and maintain a schedule of section interfaces and dependencies, ensuring clear assignment and understanding of responsibilities for interface management.
- Ensure effective management of time and financial contingency within the section's schedule, reflecting the current project position.
- Apply the change management process and ensure its application across all project tiers.
Technical Skills And Competencies
- Understanding of techniques for project planning, risk management, cost control, and other facets of project control.
- Ability to apply IT systems relevant to Controls.
- Knowledge of integrated project reporting.
- Numerical and data analysis skills.
- Ability to use Primavera P6 and other relevant software.

- Experience in a similar role and on large projects.
