The Role of an Operations Manager at Dow Jones

As an Operations Manager, you will collaborate with Technical Project Managers, Technology teams, Automation Team members, and various stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery within Data Intelligence & AI Governance. Your core responsibilities include providing operational support and managing project-based activities, which encompasses workflow analysis, process review for improvements, assisting in Key Performance Indicator (KPI) definitions, gathering requirements, project planning, and communication. Please note that Dow Jones has two vacancies for this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and streamline Data Intelligence team's workflows, ensuring adherence to new processes upon introduction.
• Review Key Performance Indicators and guide the establishment of new KPIs as needed.
• Deliver assigned projects aligned with the Data Strategy Technology roadmap, from inception through adoption.
• Understand, challenge, and address initiatives by collaborating with business teams, analyzing root causes, identifying optimizations, and designing and rolling out new processes.
• Identify and implement opportunities for operational process optimization to enhance internal and external customer efficiency and satisfaction.
• Develop robust business cases centered on Objectives and Key Results for effective project prioritization and decision-making.
• Manage all project elements, including organization, planning, estimation, resource management, tracking, control, risk & opportunity management, quality assurance, communication, documentation, and change management.
• Maintain clear, precise, and regular communication with all stakeholders, providing ongoing project status reports and eliciting requirements.
• Assist the Research/Content team with other project-based activities as required.

Essential Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in business organizations, demonstrating strong communication with business owners and senior leaders while managing multiple competing technical priorities.
• Proficiency in analyzing business processes, performing root cause analysis, and identifying project-leading solutions.
• An entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to independently develop ideas in a fast-paced environment.
• Solid knowledge of project management best practices, including managing projects from launch to delivery.
• Experience in implementing change management strategies within organizations.
• An open-minded approach to different views and an understanding of diverse stakeholder needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Formal Project Management certification.
• Experience in Agile software development.
