Uncover Hiring Manager

Job Description

About the Team

The DoorDash Global Payroll Team is dedicated to providing accurate, timely, and seamless payroll experiences for employees across North America and beyond. Operating at the intersection of Accounting, Equity, HR, Compensation, Legal, and Tax, the team creates significant value across the organization. They are crucial in ensuring every employee is paid correctly and on time, while simultaneously driving scalable, tech-forward payroll solutions. The team is experiencing exciting growth, actively building frameworks to operate payroll at scale for one of the fastest-growing companies.

About the Role

DoorDash is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Payroll Analyst to join the North America Payroll Team. This role specifically supports the execution of US and Canadian payroll operations. The primary focus is on high-quality execution of recurring payroll processes and supporting medium-complexity projects aligned with team objectives. As a Payroll Analyst, you will collaborate closely with teammates and cross-functional partners to ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and employee satisfaction. Reporting to the NORAM Payroll Manager, you will be an important contributor, enhancing your understanding of both operational and technical payroll processes.

You’re Excited About This Opportunity Because You Will…

  • Execute regular payroll processing tasks for US and Canada with precision and timeliness, including audits, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Serve as a process owner, proactively identifying and implementing payroll process improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Partner with internal teams (HRIS, Benefits, Legal, Equity) and external vendors to troubleshoot and resolve payroll issues.
  • Support payroll-related projects of moderate complexity, such as compliance updates, audit prep, or payroll calendar transitions.
  • Identify and flag workflow gaps, escalate to appropriate teams, and contribute to documentation and knowledge-sharing efforts.
  • Develop your knowledge of North American payroll operations while learning scalable practices in a high-growth, fast-moving environment.

We’re Excited About You Because…

  • You bring 3+ years of hands-on experience processing complex, multi-state US payrolls (Canadian payroll experience is a plus but not required).
  • You are tech-savvy, with proficiency in payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, or similar platforms, and advanced Excel or Google Sheet skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
  • You are a proactive problem solver who identifies root causes and implements scalable, best-practice solutions with minimal direction.
  • You are collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • You are developing expertise in payroll fundamentals and are eager to expand your scope and take on new challenges.
  • You must be comfortable regularly exercising discretion and independent judgment in performing job duties, including evaluating options, making informed decisions, and determining appropriate courses of action within the scope of assigned responsibilities.

Compensation

Actual compensation within the pay range listed will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. Base salary is localized according to employee work location. DoorDash offers a comprehensive benefits package to all regular employees, which includes a 401(k) plan with employer matching, 16 weeks of paid parental leave, wellness benefits, commuter benefits match, paid time off and paid sick leave in compliance with applicable laws. DoorDash also offers medical, dental, and vision benefits, 11 paid holidays, disability and basic life insurance, family-forming assistance, and a mental health program, among others.

For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.

The national base pay range for this position within the United States, including Illinois and Colorado, is $64,600—$95,000 USD.
