We’re growing fast and just getting started. Come join us for a whale of a ride!
The Opportunity
Docker is launching a Professional Services organization to accelerate customer success, reduce time-to-value, and drive enterprise adoption. As Principal Solutions Architect, you'll play a critical role in building and scaling this function from the ground up.
This is a high-visibility role working directly with senior leadership across revenue, product, marketing, and partner organizations. You'll shape service strategy, drive cross-functional alignment, and deliver offerings that accelerate both services revenue and platform expansion.
You'll serve as a trusted advisor to our largest and most strategic enterprise customers, providing thought leadership on AI, security, and containerization practices. This starts as an individual contributor role with potential to grow into leading a practice-focused team.
Responsibilities
Build and Scale the Professional Services Practice
- Design reference architectures, technical collateral, and success patterns that accelerate customer adoption.
- Create repeatable, monetizable instruments (SOWs, training programs, premium support add-ons) scalable across customers and partners.
- Collaborate with product, marketing, and revenue teams to integrate services into GTM motions.
- Identify offerings that drive product expansion, renewals, and long-term customer value.
- Support Partnerships & Alliances in selecting, onboarding, and enabling service delivery partners.
Drive Strategic Customer Outcomes
- Act as a trusted advisor to enterprise customers, helping them adopt modern patterns for containerization, AI workflows, and secure software supply chains.
- Position Docker as a strategic and thought leadership partner, influencing long-term technology adoption and investment decisions.
- Lead technical discovery and scope services engagements.
- Directly deliver or assign and oversee appropriate delivery partners to deliver service engagements and ensure technical objectives are met.
Enable Cross-Functional Success
- Drive alignment and decision-making across multiple stakeholders and teams without direct reporting lines.
- Translate field insights into actionable product and services strategy, roadmap, and partner capabilities.
Qualifications
Required
- 7+ years as a Professional Services Solution Architect, Technical Consultant, or similar role at a SaaS/infrastructure company or consulting firm.
- Deep technical expertise in containerization, container and software supply chain security practices, Kubernetes, SDLC architectures, and enterprise-scale developer and production environments.
- Excellent facilitation and stakeholder management skills with the ability to lead executive-level architecture conversations and have the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment without formal authority.
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML workflows, model deployment, and agentic AI deployment in enterprise environments.
- Direct experience delivering high quality services engagements that deliver customer value while also delivering revenue and ARR growth target objectives as part of a revenue organization.
- Recognition by enterprise customers as a strategic technical advisor.
Bonus
- Technical training development experience (workshops, certification programs, digital learning).
- Background training and enabling system integrators, consultancies, or partner ecosystems.
- Consulting experience with Fortune 500 clients in highly regulated sectors such as financial services, healthcare, or government.
