About Divergent
Divergent is a technology company that has built the Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS) to revolutionize manufacturing through machine learning, additive manufacturing, and flexible assembly. As a Tier 1 supplier to global automotive OEMs, Divergent is now expanding into Aerospace and Defense.
Purpose
The Senior Packaging Engineer will drive packaging, labeling, and compliance activities for both Divergent Technologies and Czinger Vehicles. This role supports high performance automotive and aerospace & defense programs by designing sustainable, lifecycle-optimized packaging solutions.
The Role
- Lead design, development, and procurement of packaging solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, supply chain, and logistics teams.
- Implement packaging designs and preservation methods for transportation and storage.
- Maintain documentation including drawings, work instructions, and test reports.
- Support packaging qualification testing and compliance reviews.
- Serve as the subject matter expert in packaging strategies.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years in packaging engineering in automotive or aerospace.
- Expertise in CAD software (SolidWorks, Catia) and structural simulation.
- Knowledge of packaging materials and testing standards (ISTA, ASTM, ISO).
- Familiarity with ERP systems and TMS tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in early-stage or scale-up manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with additive manufacturing logistics.
- Strong project management and Lean manufacturing knowledge.
Work Environment & Compensation
This position includes in-office shop floor travel domestically. Compensation ranges from $122,400 to $168,300 USD with a holistic benefits package.
