Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Logistics Specialist, Inbound to join our supply chain team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the execution and tracking of shipments, resolving transportation issues, and ensuring compliance with international and domestic shipping regulations. This role requires experience with a wide range of transportation modes and familiarity with regulatory requirements such as Dangerous Goods handling and ITAR compliance.

Key Responsibilities of a Senior Logistics Specialist, Inbound
- Execute and manage daily shipments across various transportation modes (Small Parcel, LTL, FTL, LCL, Airfreight).
- Track and monitor the movement of shipments (both domestic and international) to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
- Identify and resolve transportation and shipping issues proactively and effectively.
- Collaborate with internal teams, carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure smooth logistics operations.
- Maintain accurate shipment documentation and ensure compliance with applicable regulations including: Dangerous Goods (DG) handling and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Support and manage finished vehicle moves coordinating with logistics providers.
- Analyze shipping data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and performance improvement areas.
- Develop and maintain KPIs related to logistics operations.
- Assist in developing and optimizing logistics processes and procedures.
- Own and define inbound logistics strategy, establish department-level KPIs, and serve as the subject matter expert for international trade compliance and transportation optimization initiatives.
- Other responsibilities as needed.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain roles.
- Hands-on experience with international and domestic shipments.
- Working knowledge of transportation modes including Small Parcel, LTL, FTL, and LCL.
- Experience handling Dangerous Goods (certification a plus).
- Familiarity with ITAR and export compliance regulations.
- Experience with finished vehicle transportation strongly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle time-sensitive issues.
- Proficiency in logistics software and systems (e.g., TMS, ERP).
- Familiarity with HTS and Schedule B codes preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls.
Preferred Qualifications
- IATA/IMDG Dangerous Goods Certification.
- ITAR Compliance Training.
- APICS or other Supply Chain Certifications.
Work Environment and Compensation
This role operates in an in-office and shop floor environment. The compensation for a Senior Logistics Specialist, Inbound at Divergent ranges from $98,316 to $135,189 annually, based on a level S05 evaluation.
