About the Role
Discount Bank invites you to work at the heart of the bank's strategic operations, gaining direct exposure to senior management and a comprehensive overview of the Discount Group's activities both in Israel and abroad. This is a unique opportunity to secure a pivotal role in the risk management of the bank's subsidiaries, blending professional expertise, regulatory adherence, data analysis, and significant influence on critical decision-making processes.
As a Risk Management Specialist, you will regularly collaborate with VPs, senior management, and the CEO, immersing yourself in all facets of the bank's and its subsidiaries' operations. You will play an active role in shaping the overall risk landscape and contributing to group-wide policy formulation.
What the Role Includes:
- Ongoing monitoring, control, and follow-up of subsidiary activities, including comprehensive review of board and committee materials, risk documents, audit reports, business results, and organizational changes.
- Identification, thorough analysis, and precise evaluation of various risks such as credit, market, liquidity, operational, compliance, and anti-money laundering risks, along with highlighting any identified gaps and weaknesses.
- Formulation of a comprehensive risk picture, preparation of periodic assessments, and generation of detailed reports for senior management.
- Consolidation of essential reports, including CEO reports and ongoing risk assessments, involving regular collaboration with teams in New York.
- Providing expert professional opinions on risk management aspects pertaining to material processes within the subsidiaries.
- Managing continuous interfaces with senior officials across the bank, its subsidiaries, and international branches.
Job Requirements:
- Academic Background: A relevant academic degree in Law, Accounting, or Economics is mandatory.
- Experience: At least 3 years of proven experience in risk management domains (e.g., credit, market, liquidity).
- Language Proficiency: Full proficiency in English, encompassing reading, writing, and speaking, is essential for regular meetings and communications.
- Communication Skills: Demonstrated high proficiency in both written and oral expression.
- Analytical Acuity: Strong analytical thinking, a systemic perspective, and the ability to discern essential information from peripheral details.
- Work Ethic: Capacity for independent work alongside effective teamwork and interface management.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with banking regulation and internal business processes at Discount Bank is a significant advantage.
