Regulatory Compliance Team Overview
The Regulatory Compliance team acts as Discord's regulatory intelligence hub. It manages complex compliance requirements across 200+ jurisdictions with evolving laws on content moderation, user safety, privacy, and platform governance. The team builds comprehensive programs addressing regulations such as the EU Digital Services Act, UK Online Safety Act, Australian Online Safety Act, and the Take It Down Act, while also preparing for emerging regulations with horizon scanning.
Role Overview - Senior Program Manager Product & Platform Compliance
In this role, you will own and drive strategic compliance programs. Responsibilities include setting strategic direction for transparency reporting, designing multi-quarter audit improvement initiatives, building scalable risk assessment frameworks, leading large projects, and mentoring team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Own legal safety data and metrics programs for global transparency reporting.
- Lead annual compliance audit programs and scale audit capabilities.
- Develop and optimize compliance infrastructure and processes for operational growth.
- Drive large-scale regulatory projects and define scope with multiple stakeholders.
- Serves as the compliance partner across Legal, Engineering, Product, Policy, and Trust & Safety.
- Provide technical expertise and mentorship on program management and audit practices.
Required Qualifications
- 7-8 years of compliance, regulatory, or program management experience.
- Proven experience in leading large, complex programs and building scalable systems.
- Deep expertise in compliance frameworks, audit methodologies and risk assessment.
- Advanced stakeholder management and exceptional communication skills.
- Technical resource and mentor for compliance program management.

- Expertise in platform regulations and content moderation frameworks.
- Experience with data metrics programs and scalable measurement frameworks.
- History of leading audit programs and managing external audits.
- Experience managing external counsel and building compliance management systems.
Compensation & Benefits
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $180,000 to $202,500 plus equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by skills, experience, and relevant training.
