About the Role
The Clinical Pharmacist - Client Success serves as a strategic clinical advisor within the Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) team, providing pharmacy expertise to enhance client relationships and optimize prescription benefit performance. This role supports plan utilization analysis, formulary strategy, and clinical program development, and collaborates closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of client goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as a resource for clients through our account executive team, offering clinical guidance.
- Partner with the account executive to create a narrative providing clinical insights to pharmacy spend to deliver clear customized presentations to client executives and stakeholders, distilling complex data into actionable insights.
- Stay up-to-date on pharmacy benefit trends and regulatory developments, drug pipeline and help clients proactively navigate changes.
- Bring client voice and perspective to our formulary management processes, including pipeline reviews, policy creation, and P&T committee participation.
- Lead or co-own the development of client clinical reporting, including quarterly summaries, plan performance insights, and NQTL compliance documentation.
- Work with account executive to respond to urgent or nuanced clinical inquiries with professionalism and clarity, ensuring clients receive timely, thorough guidance.
- Contribute to training initiatives and serve as a clinical resource for internal teams.
- Collaborate to help improve workflows and assist with implementing new programs or strategies as needed.
- Conduct and evaluate prior authorization requests and support escalation pathways as needed.
- Represent clinical and client priorities during internal discussions on product development, client onboarding, or service improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Active Pharmacist license in good standing in at least one U.S. state.
- At least 3+ years of experience in pharmacy benefit management, managed care, or a clinical role with payer-facing responsibilities.
- Comfort presenting to executive leadership and broker partners.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret pharmacy claims data and discuss utilization metrics with non-clinical stakeholders including c-suite presentations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication, time management, and analytical skills.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with PBM analytics tools or platforms (e.g., Xevant, Artemis, internal BI dashboards).
- Experience participating in formulary or P&T committee processes.
- Understanding of specialty drug management, biosimilar strategies, and clinical cost containment approaches.
Work Environment & Expectations
This is a remote-based position with occasional travel (up to 10%) for client meetings or internal events. Success in this role requires independent initiative, attention to detail, and a commitment to timely client communication.
