The Program Manager Meetings And Events Remote at Direct Travel manages client programs, executes event strategies, builds client relationships, and ensures effective financial management. The role requires strong leadership, collaboration with internal departments, and the execution of on-site and remote events.

Client Responsibilities

Act as the main client contact. Develop and nurture strong relationships, consult on goals and event needs, and provide creative solutions using the i|xperience methodology. Schedule and facilitate planning and debrief meetings.

Program Operations

  • Lead operational site inspections and supplier negotiations.
  • Manage hotel and supplier staff to exceed client expectations.
  • Create and communicate program specifications and event orders.

Financial Management and Insights

Manage client budgets, monitor labor hours, and reconcile invoicing while maximizing revenue opportunities and cost savings.

Leadership and Collaboration

Provide confident leadership to internal teams and clients, mentor project managers, and ensure seamless on-site program execution. Share best practices and process improvements across the company.

Working Conditions & Requirements

Extended workdays, potential weekends, and travel up to 35-40% annually. Physical requirements include lifting 20 lbs. and prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking.

Passport to Success

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Hospitality, or Event Planning and a minimum of 4 years in the hospitality or event industry, with 3 years of meeting planning experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, One Drive, and Zoom is required. Certification in Meeting Planner (CMP) is a plus.
