Job Summary
As an integral part of the Direct Travel North America Leisure Sales Management Team, you will be responsible for driving sales and revenue growth, while supporting Direct Travel Leisure, the team, and our preferred partner objectives. This role will oversee one of four specialized sales teams, each aligned with a distinct advisor growth path: Tours, Cruise, Hotels & Resorts, and Active & Adventure. You will collaborate closely with the Marketing team and Virtuoso to strengthen brand visibility and engagement across your teams. This position works in partnership with fellow Leisure Sales Managers and reports directly to the Director of Leisure Sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing, mentoring, and coaching staff advisors, branch supervisors, and branch managers within the team to ensure all quality and service standards are met.
- Ensuring that standard operating processes and procedures are adhered to, including GDS script usage, CB+ ResCard and invoicing standards, and CB+ Marketing coding standards.
- Working with Direct Travel’s Marketing team to optimize lead generation programs to grow business within each team and to effectively market travel opportunities to new and current clients.
- Coordinating scheduling for regional offices with backup procedures if necessary.
- Ensuring employees are compliant with all company policies and processes.
- Maintaining customer service standards per Direct Travel’s policy manual.
- Working directly with Advisors on any error issues to resolve while keeping the management team informed.
- Providing ongoing training support to regional advisors and teams, with a particular focus on sales growth and strategic partnerships.
- Participating in all Management meetings and Virtuoso events when required.
- Escalating issues to the next level of management as necessary.
- Maintaining and promoting professional and courteous client relations by managing a prompt and accurate response to telephone and email communications.
- Organizing and participating in local/regional events to promote travel, drive leads, and close sales.
- Collaborating with Operations to optimize processes and efficiencies with a focus on travel advisors.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of travel agency experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software.
- GDS Experience is an asset.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership along with personal and organizational integrity.
- Capability of working in a team environment supporting management and staff, following policies, providing feedback, assisting in special projects, and taking on additional responsibility.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US or Canada and have unrestricted work authorization.
