Overview

The UI Architect Contract Role at Direct ChassisLink Inc. (DCLI) is an open ended contract position responsible for defining and driving the user interface architecture strategy across digital products and platforms. You will collaborate with product teams, UX designers, frontend engineers, and backend developers to deliver scalable, performant, and visually compelling interfaces.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and define UI architecture and frontend strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Develop reusable component libraries, design systems, and frontend standards.
  • Select and advocate for modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, and Vue.
  • Provide architectural guidance, mentorship, and conduct design/code reviews.
  • Champion accessibility (WCAG), responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Integrate frontend systems with backend APIs and microservices.
  • Maintain architectural documentation and review frontend codebases.
  • Optimize performance using tools like Lighthouse, WebPageTest, and Chrome DevTools.
  • Promote security best practices in the frontend domain.
  • Collaborate with product owners and business analysts to align UI strategy with user requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or related field with proven experience as a UI Architect, Lead Frontend Engineer, or similar role. Deep understanding of modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, Angular), HTML5, CSS3, and state management (Redux, Zustand) is required. Familiarity with design systems, Storybook, Figma, responsive design, accessibility (WCAG), and CI/CD pipelines is essential. Experience with frontend testing (Jest, Cypress) and cloud-based hosting (Netlify, Vercel) is a plus. Knowledge of the intermodal or logistics industry is an extra advantage. Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
