Job Description

About Digital Science

Digital Science is a pioneering technology company committed to advancing the research ecosystem. Our vision is to foster a trusted and collaborative research environment that drives progress for all. We champion better, open, collaborative, and inclusive research by developing next-generation tools and partnering with the community to address significant research challenges. We are looking for innovative, inspiring, and dynamic individuals to join our team.

Your New Role as Principal Product Manager

Digital Science is seeking a Principal Product Manager (B2C) to significantly drive revenue and product growth across our industry-leading B2C product suite. This portfolio includes established products like Overleaf, alongside exciting new AI-driven initiatives and mobile applications.

You will play a pivotal role, collaborating closely with product development, go-to-market, and executive teams. Your responsibility will be to shape, prioritize, and deliver high-impact product initiatives that enhance user experience and achieve key business outcomes. This involves defining strategic direction, identifying lucrative growth opportunities, and ensuring our B2C offerings consistently meet our customers' evolving needs.

Reporting directly to the Product Director (Overleaf), you will engage with Executive and Senior Vice Presidents, as well as functional leaders from Analytics and Design within our matrix organization. Success in this role requires developing a deep, comprehensive understanding of Digital Science’s entire B2C product ecosystem, encompassing commercial, technological, and product perspectives.

Please note: Due to business needs, we can only consider applications from candidates residing in the UK, Spain, Germany, or Romania, where we have established legal entities. Applications from outside these areas will not be considered.

We encourage prompt application, as this position may close early if we receive a high volume of suitable candidates.

What You’ll Be Doing

Product Success

  • Primarily drive our B2C growth strategy, owning the B2C growth framework and all aspects of experimentation.
  • Identify and execute experiments designed to increase user acquisition, activation, retention, and monetization across the lifecycle of our B2C product suite.
  • Collaborate closely with go-to-market teams to deliver high-impact product-led growth initiatives, including improving onboarding experiences and optimizing paid conversion funnels.
  • Expand AI and mobile offerings by identifying and developing new opportunities in AI-driven tools and mobile apps to enhance our B2C portfolio and drive long-term business success.

Product Management

  • Act as a trusted product expert, applying deep knowledge of the business, customers, and technology to all product work.
  • Provide transparency and inspire confidence in all stakeholders regarding the product roadmap and development plans.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success, regularly reporting on performance to stakeholders.
  • Apply a solid and pragmatic understanding of common Product Management practices, selecting the best framework or methodology for each situation.
  • Guide and mentor team members, sharing your knowledge and experience even without formal line management responsibilities.

Vision, Strategy, and Prioritization

  • Guide the long-term strategy, vision, and roadmap for your product area, ensuring direct contributions to revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and competitive advantage.
  • Leverage insights from data analysis to identify innovation opportunities and inform product strategy.
  • Assess, manage, and communicate the prioritization of features and initiatives, using data, insights, and strategic alignment to determine their relative value, viability, and urgency.
  • Monitor product performance through data analytics, metrics, and user feedback to identify optimization areas and make data-driven decisions.
  • Maintain awareness of the competitive B2C landscape through research to understand effective growth strategies in other consumer products.

Product Development and Practice

  • Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch and eventual end-of-life, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality execution.
  • Manage product ideation within your areas, including idea generation, analysis, and documentation, continuously seeking optimal solutions for business problems and user experience improvements.
  • Specify and validate requirements for comprehensive product development, creating and maintaining high-quality product artifacts such as PRDs, epics, and user stories.
  • Own the validation of development work, ensuring value delivery to both customers and the business.
  • Facilitate collaboration among members of our cross-functional product teams.
