Overview

Diffusely, an AI visual production platform, is redefining how automotive and fashion brands create and optimize visual content. The Engineering Manager - AI Media Processing will join the 12-person Fashion team at Diffusely in Paris, France, to lead the engineering efforts on the AutoRetouch product. This role involves shaping technical vision, architecture, and ensuring the reliability of the backend infrastructure that powers our image creation and enhancement AI solution.

Diffusely is innovating in fashion imagery by automating the entire image production process. Its products include:

  • AI Image Enhancement: Automated photo retouching with advanced segmentation and AI-generated shadows.
  • AI Image Generation: Developing technology to generate high-quality visuals with AI-generated models.

What You'll Do

  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor 2 engineers, fostering innovation and effective onboarding.
  • Hands-On Technical Leadership: Engage in coding and problem-solving to set a high standard of quality.
  • Code Quality: Ensure production of clean, efficient, well-tested code while mentoring the team on best practices.
  • Ownership & Management: Own critical backend components including APIs, pipelines, and features ensuring reliability.
  • Delivery & Quality: Ensure timely delivery of projects while managing workload and delegating tasks effectively.
  • Budget Management: Oversee financial resources within the department.
  • Product Creation: Collaborate with product teams to translate technical capabilities into market-ready offerings.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 5+ years in engineering with 1+ years in management.
  • Expert Python skills and proficient in Linux system and networking.
  • Strong OpenCV proficiency with experience in image and video processing.
  • Experience with SQL databases and queue-based processing.
  • Knowledgeable in architectures, protocols, containers, and security practices.
  • Experience with AWS cloud solutions, source code management, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Team player with a proactive approach and strong quality sensibility.
  • Working proficiency in English.
