This Content Creator role is essential for developing engaging visual content across various social media platforms, supporting DICK'S Sporting Goods' mission to inspire athletes.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

As a Content Creator, you will be responsible for bringing creative visions to life through dynamic video and still content.

  • Assist in concepting, shooting, and producing creative content (video and stills) for use on various social media platforms.
  • Ensure that each assigned project meets brand standards and aligns with current social trends.
  • Apply graphic design best practices into social-specific content creation.
  • Build photoshoot plans and attend photoshoots and events to capture engaging content.
  • Edit and enhance existing content to improve engagement and SEO performance.
  • Analyze content performance metrics and adjust strategies accordingly.

Cross Functional Teammates

Collaboration is key to our success. You will work closely with multiple teams to achieve campaign goals.

  • Collaborate with Brand Marketing, Media, and Creative teams to brainstorm and execute creative campaigns.
  • Collaborate with external creative agencies for content shooting and editing.
  • Work with paid media specialists/strategists on platform best practices to maximize reach and impact.

Industry Trends

Staying ahead of the curve is vital in the fast-paced world of digital content. Your role will involve continuous learning and adaptation.

  • Dedicate time to researching trends and new opportunities, as well as popular styles of editing and filming.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate them into content strategies.

Education

Beyond creating, you will also serve as a valuable resource and educator within the creative team.

  • Be a resource on the creative team that other teammates go to for guidance and inspiration.
  • Educate creative and social teams on new ways of shooting and editing content.

Qualifications

To succeed as a Content Creator, you will need a strong creative background and hands-on experience with digital tools.

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA or BS) in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in content creation.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, and Adobe Premiere.
  • Experience with mobile editing tools like CapCut, TikTok, and Instagram editing suites.
  • Must have a strong portfolio for review showcasing your creative work.
  • Ability to travel to events and photoshoots as required.
  • Demonstrates efficient work procedures, self-starter mentality, and proactive approach.
  • Possesses a strong eye for design and keen attention to detail.
  • Understands various social channels including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and Pinterest.
  • Excellent communication skills for problem-solving and collaboration with team members.
