Description

The AR Specialist is a multi-tasking, highly skilled position covering all key aspects of physician billing, with a focus on OB/GYN billing, insurance denials, and revenue cycle management. This role supports patient-centered care and acts as a patient advocate, ensuring efficient management of accounts receivable.

What You’ll Do

  • Utilize expertise in OB/GYN billing to resolve insurance denials.
  • Navigate payer portals to monitor claim status and eligibility.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on appeals and claims documentation.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical billing regulations.
  • Manage daily data entry and record-keeping for billing activities.

Core Revenue Cycle Functions

  • Comply with Revenue Cycle policies and procedures.
  • Work assigned task lists, queues, and files.
  • Maintain current knowledge of payor reimbursements and managed care contracts.
  • Document all communications and activities accurately.
  • Meet departmental production standards consistently.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in medical claims collection, familiarity with OB/GYN billing, medical terminology, and coding. Strong communication, mathematical and computer skills (including PB, EMR, and Microsoft Office) are required along with superior customer service abilities. A high school diploma or GED is mandatory and detail orientation is essential.
