About the Role
As a Tax Reporting Junior Analyst at Diageo, you will play a vital role within the international tax group, contributing to external reporting obligations for both Tax Reporting and CARM. This position involves close collaboration with Global Tax colleagues, Group reporting, statutory reporting functions, and the Global Outsourcing Partner (EY).
You will maintain strong working relationships with compliance teams, market finance teams, and gain wide exposure across the entire global tax function, engaging with business partners, local tax managers, and directors. Your responsibilities include reporting PYA and P09 numbers for non-complex RoW Diageo entities, requiring cross-border management with various Global Tax and finance teams. A key aspect of this role is improving, standardizing, and automating these processes for the organizations in scope.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
This role requires a proactive approach to identify and implement performance improvements. You will be involved in the continuous improvement of the GOP reporting framework and contribute to developing and delivering the standardization and automation agenda for reporting within your scope. Effective and timely stakeholder management, alongside understanding their needs, is crucial.
- Support senior specialists and junior managers in producing prior year tax adjustments and P09 reports accurately and on time for non-complex RoW entities, adhering to IFRS standards and consolidated reporting guidelines.
- Prepare non-complex return-to-reporting reconciliations.
- Manage and maintain deferred tax reconciliation and calculation schedules.
- Support the P09 and P12 external group tax reporting process.
Experience and Skills Required
- Diploma in finance or accounting.
- 0-2 years of finance experience.
- Strong interest and motivation to develop technical accounting skills with an excellent understanding of IFRS.
- Good communication and influencing skills to build effective networks and relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively to deadlines and under pressure.
- Demonstrated good judgment and imaginative problem-solving capabilities for complex issues.
