Senior Expert Media Monitoring and Analytics at DHL
DHL Group's Corporate Communications protects and strengthens the company's reputation through proactive and reactive global communication. A data-driven approach to communication measurement is a central success factor in this endeavor. In this senior role, you will consolidate daily media coverage (traditional & social media) for executive leadership, derive analytical decisions from media data, and advance media monitoring with Generative AI.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily curation of external media coverage (regarding DHL Group) for morning briefings.
- Strict, time-critical quality control of agency-provided morning coverage based on corporate priorities (relevance, completeness, correct coding).
- Organization and dispatch of briefings to selected corporate representatives, including the CEO and entire Executive Board.
- Presentation of current media coverage in the morning round to international communication experts as a basis for press work.
- Independent management of the external media agency in ongoing operations.
- Analytics & Insights: Create well-founded analyses of media coverage based on collected media analysis data (e.g., tonality, share of voice), supplemented by reach/impact metrics (e.g., potential visibility, influence) as a basis for strategic decisions by the Head of Corporate Communications to maintain/build reputation and for the external positioning of selected corporate representatives.
- Thematic support regarding defined growth areas of the Group with the help of internal and external media analyses.
- Early Warning System: Identification and continuous monitoring of relevant media (traditional & digital) for rapid dissemination of potentially reputation-critical reporting to the right stakeholders within the company.
- KPI Definition & Ad-hoc Reports: Development of meaningful KPIs and creation of precise management reports for exposed corporate representatives.
- Media Research: Conduct media research – possibly in collaboration with the corporate archive – to provide reliable media content.
- Innovation with Generative AI: Continuous (further) development of options for data collection and media analysis; global agency management, evaluation of external proposals, and introduction of own concepts.
- Enablement: Conception and introduction of self-service access for communicators, including user training and advice on interpreting and evaluating the collected data.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Professional Requirements:
- Completed university degree (Business/Economics/Communication Sciences or comparable fields of study).
- Several years of professional experience in related fields of media analysis, BI/Data Analytics, or communication measurement, ideally in international companies/organizations.
- Experience in conducting complex data analyses and preparing analytical results for management, especially in complex communication topics.
- Basic understanding of media channels and their interactions between traditional media (print & online) and social media.
- Very good user knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
Personal Requirements:
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
- Willingness to discover and apply new approaches and technologies in media monitoring and analytics in the medium and long term.
- Independent and structured working style with high quality standards.
- Confident communication & presentation skills, at all levels up to the Executive Board.
- Strong team and cooperation skills, high (temporal) flexibility, and resilience.
Benefits
- Flexibility: We offer up to 3 days/week of location-flexible work, plus flexible working hours without core time. Regulations may vary depending on the task and role.
- Well-Being: Fun, team spirit, and health are crucial factors. Therefore, the Group offers various health and preventive care programs, a company doctor, and the FC Deutsche Post. Here, employees exercise together or exchange ideas.
