About the Role

The Director Events Marketing and Engagement at DHL Supply Chain is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of all company events. This role involves strategic event planning, vendor management, budgeting, and on-site coordination to enhance the company brand and foster client relationships.

Event Strategy and Planning

Lead the development and implementation of an event strategy aligned with company goals. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand event requirements. Conduct research to identify creative event concepts, themes, and venues. Develop detailed plans including timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.

Budgeting and Financial Management

Create and monitor event budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness. Negotiate contracts with vendors. Track event expenses including invoicing, payments, and reconciliations.

Event Logistics and Execution

Coordinate logistical aspects including venue selection, audiovisual, catering, transportation, and accommodations. Manage event registration and attendee communication. Oversee on-site setup and real-time troubleshooting.

Vendor and Stakeholder Management

Identify and select vendors, negotiate contracts, and maintain vendor relationships. Work closely with internal teams and liaise with clients, sponsors and other stakeholders to deliver seamless experiences.

Team Leadership and Development

Delegate tasks effectively while fostering a collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and creativity.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or related field. 7-10 years experience in B2B event planning and internal event management. 5-7 years experience in marketing/communications with a proven track record of executing successful events.
