Job Summary
D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Business Analyst I to identify, define, and document business needs and customer requirements for SBUs within DHIFS, communicating them to IT staff. This role involves analyzing IT project feasibility, advising on IT system implications, developing work plans, and assisting Project Managers with resource estimation and scheduling.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform investigation, analysis, and evaluation for IT project feasibility.
- Advise staff on the implications of existing IT systems for problem-solving.
- Develop and evaluate data and programs to determine appropriate actions.
- Develop or assist in developing work plans, specifications, and task sequencing.
- Assist Project Manager in estimating resource needs (analysts, programmers, etc.).
- Discuss complex matters and seek approval from Project Manager or Business Analyst II.
- Develop time schedules, conversion, and test procedures.
- Maintain understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Conduct business professionally and ethically.
- Ability to travel overnight.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
- Two to three years of related experience and/or training.
- Thorough understanding of project management and control.
- Ability to communicate ideas and problem solutions.
- Ability to work effectively with people in other departments and outside the enterprise.
- Customer-service oriented.
- Proficiency with MS Office and email.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related technical field.
- 6 months to 2 years of systems design work experience or relevant financial services experience.
