Job Summary:
Dexterra is seeking a licensed Master Electrician to provide leadership and hands-on technical expertise for a large workforce accommodations facility in Texas. This role involves ensuring the safe, reliable, and code-compliant operation of all electrical systems within a complex of temporary, modular structures. You will act as the technical authority for electrical systems and contribute to general facilities maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical Systems & Code Compliance: Serve as the licensed Master Electrician, ensuring adherence to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Texas regulations. Perform, supervise, and verify all electrical work, including power distribution, lighting, panelboards, breakers, feeders, and service entrance equipment. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical faults, ensuring safe installation and maintenance of electrical systems in temporary and modular structures. Act as the Master of Record as required by Texas law.
- Facilities Maintenance Support: Support general maintenance activities in coordination with facilities and site leadership. Conduct routine inspections to identify electrical and infrastructure deficiencies. Respond to electrical service calls and urgent maintenance issues. Coordinate with other trades and contractors. Document all completed work, inspections, and identified deficiencies.
- Safety, Leadership & Compliance: Ensure all electrical and maintenance work complies with site safety programs. Enforce lock-out/tag-out procedures and electrical safety practices. Provide technical guidance and oversight to maintenance personnel and contractors. Support audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
Qualifications:
- Active Texas Master Electrician license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in commercial, industrial, or institutional electrical work.
- Demonstrated experience working with temporary, modular, or prefabricated structures.
- Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Experience supporting both electrical systems and general facilities maintenance.
- Proven troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of site electrical systems.
- Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Physically capable of working in mechanical and electrical rooms and performing hands-on work.
