Opportunity & Responsibilities
As a Visiting Professor of Accounting, you will share your industry expertise with undergraduate and graduate students. Courses meet once or twice a week for eight weeks. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and providing approved syllabi that align with DeVry standards.
- Organizing and updating course materials and lesson plans.
- Utilizing online technologies such as email, websites, and discussion forums.
- Communicating clearly and fairly, and providing timely feedback on exams.
- Participating in comprehensive faculty training and ongoing development.
Qualifications
A Doctoral degree in Accounting or a related field (with 18 graduate credit hours in Accounting) is required. Active CPA status is preferred. Demonstrated subject matter expertise, excellent communication, motivational and instructional skills, and the ability to work collegially in diverse groups are essential.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay is based on degree, credit hours taught per session, and location. In CA, pay is at an hourly rate of either $22.00/hour or $23.50/hour. Benefit options vary, and visiting professors may have a limited benefits package. Additional benefits include technology stipend, paid tuition program, remote and flex work options, and various insurance and wellness programs.
