Role Overview: Studio CTO
The Studio CTO will oversee all engineering across Devoted's co-development projects. You will be responsible for technical strategy, execution quality, engineering leadership, and developing scalable systems that support multiple concurrent client partnerships. You will act as the senior technical authority internally and with external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Strategy & Vision: Define technology roadmap, evaluate game engines, and track emerging trends.
- Engineering Leadership: Lead and mentor teams, establish best coding practices and standards.
- Game Technology & Architecture: Oversee design of scalable, maintainable game architectures and integration of systems.
- Production & Delivery: Collaborate with Product, Design, Art, and Production for smooth pipelines.
- Infrastructure & Operations: Manage backend services, cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
- Hiring & Talent Development: Recruit and nurture top engineering talent with clear career paths.
- Stakeholder Communication: Translate technical concepts into clear business language for executives and partners.
Requirements
Key Qualifications: 10+ years in software engineering with game development experience, 5+ years in technical leadership, strong game engine knowledge (e.g., Unreal, Unity), expertise in C++, C#, and demonstrated success shipping commercial games.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with live-service games, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), automation pipelines, and distributed teams.
Leadership Competencies
Strategic thinker, excellent communicator, collaborative leader, and comfortable making high-impact decisions under uncertainty.
