About the role

Senior DevOps Engineer

Deutsche Bank is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their growing Corporate Bank Technology team in Pune, India. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to rebuilding critical processing systems from the ground up, supporting businesses like Cash Management, Securities Services, and Trade Finance.

What You'll Do

As a foundational pillar for platform reliability and scalability, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure, automation, and observability for a mission-critical system protecting the Corporate Bank's online channels from real-time fraud. This role requires hands-on expertise in cloud-native technologies, CI/CD, and SRE principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and manage core infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (e.g., Terraform).
  • Develop and maintain robust, automated CI/CD pipelines for microservices to ensure safe, frequent, and reliable deployments.
  • Implement a comprehensive observability strategy including tracing, logging, and actionable metrics/alerting.
  • Partner closely with the Lead Engineer and developers to integrate reliability and security into the application architecture.
  • Manage provisioning, configuration, and security of platform components like Kubernetes, Kafka, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
  • Automate operational processes, create runbooks, and lead performance and load testing.
  • Act as the primary subject matter expert for infrastructure, security, and reliability, driving best practices.

Your Skills And Experience:

  • Proven hands-on experience designing, building, and managing secure, scalable infrastructure on a major public cloud (GCP strongly preferred, AWS/Azure acceptable).
  • Expert-level knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Deep expertise in building and managing CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
  • Strong practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform preferred).
  • Proficiency with observability tools and establishing a robust monitoring stack (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, OpenTelemetry).
  • Solid scripting and automation skills (Bash, Python, Go).
  • Experience managing distributed systems (Kafka, PostgreSQL, Redis).
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking, security best practices, and IAM.
  • Experience in a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with the Java/Spring Boot ecosystem from a deployment and operational perspective.
