Position Overview

The Portfolio Analyst supports the Passive Portfolio Manager in overseeing and maintaining the performance of investment portfolios in Mumbai, India. This role involves tracking key portfolio metrics, conducting in-depth data and performance analysis, and preparing internal reports for investment decisions. The analyst works with financial datasets and analytical tools to assess portfolio performance and supports daily operational activities associated with passive investment strategies.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Passive Portfolio Management teams across Europe and the US.
  • Perform and sign off on daily NAV and PCF reconciliations.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders and internal teams (Middle Office, Risk, Compliance).
  • Monitor index changes, corporate actions, and conduct cash flow analysis.
  • Generate performance attribution reports and monitor risk exposures.
  • Support timely stakeholder communication and issue resolution.

Your Skills and Experience

Applicants should have a postgraduate degree or equivalent international qualification. Preference will be given to CFA Charterholders or candidates having passed Level III. A strong quantitative background in engineering, mathematics, or finance is required along with up to 3 years of relevant experience in financial services. A foundational understanding of equity, fixed income instruments, and derivatives is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, a working knowledge of Bloomberg and Reuters, and familiarity with VBA or portfolio management systems are advantageous.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, capable of working independently, and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure. Effective written and verbal communication skills along with strong stakeholder engagement and team collaboration are key.
