Position Overview

As a Clearing and Settlement Analyst, Derivative Settlements (German Speaker) at Deutsche Bank, you will be a key member of the Frankfurt Cross-asset Derivative Settlements team based in Manila. This role requires strong German language expertise and focuses on processing daily pre and post settlements, managing cash transfers, and reconciling ledgers. You will work within a controlled environment, ensuring all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met and operational risks are mitigated.

You will manage market-driven flows, understand client and market needs, and adapt team strategies to ensure timely delivery. Your responsibilities also include cross-training, succession planning, preparing management reports, and collaborating with various departments for accurate and timely processing.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all trade confirmations are matched promptly, adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Complete all daily pre and post settlements within agreed timelines.
  • Investigate and resolve queries, coordinating with Sales, Trading, other DB branches, and external clients.
  • Liaise with onshore contacts in UK, US & APAC, serving as a primary point for issue resolution.
  • Maintain a strong control environment with diligence and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate dedication, drive, and a strong work ethic.
  • Cultivate strong client relationship management skills, both internal and external.
  • Effectively manage tight deadlines and work under pressure in a regulated environment.
  • Be a strong team player, assisting with back-ups and during contingencies.
  • Review workflows and operating procedures, driving process improvements.
  • Monitor daily benchmark reports, investigate breaches, and enhance quality.
  • Build process documentation, define benchmarks, and create capacity models.
  • Drive process improvement through innovation and team involvement.
  • Effectively manage risk and foster a robust control environment.
  • Focus on high-risk transactions and keep operational guidelines updated.
  • Continuously evaluate existing processes and suggest enhancements for efficiency and STP rates.
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for team-initiated or internal stakeholder changes.
  • Actively participate in working groups, gathering feedback and providing business input.
  • Utilize excellent oral and written communication skills for business and technical stakeholders.
  • Drive project initiatives to increase efficiency.
  • Prepare MIS Reporting and perform analysis on settlement breaks.
  • Supervise and oversee team performance, risk indicators, and Service Level Agreements.
  • Analyze, drive change, and continuous improvement, acting as an escalation point.
  • Build, foster, and manage relationships with relevant stakeholders for critical tasks.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Graduate degree, preferably in Business Administration or a related course.
  • Proficiency in German language (B1 or B2 level) both verbal and written.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Rates & Credit Pre & Post settlement, with knowledge of Foreign Exchange settlement being an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of the Settlement framework, CASS regulation, and regulatory rules affecting OTC Derivatives.
  • Strong analytical skills, detail orientation, service commitment, and solid organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Keen eye for detail, ability to multitask, and meet strict deadlines.
