Role Description
This role is for a Functional Analyst responsible for architecting and designing software applications. The candidate is expected to work closely with Team Leads or Software Development Managers and other key stakeholders to ensure good quality, maintainable, scalable, and high-performing software applications are delivered to users. The ideal candidate will have a strong technological background, be hands-on, and able to work independently with minimal technical/tool guidance. They should also be capable of technically guiding and mentoring junior resources, collaborating with team members and vendor teams to design and develop software, and possess good communication skills and a strong positive outlook.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Hands-on software development
- Strong experience in the Banking domain, especially Structuring business
- Experience in Fees-based domain such as M&A, Debt Issuance, etc.
- Knowledge of solution design
- Experience in Agile and Scrum delivery
- Ability to contribute towards good software design
- Strong communication with stakeholders
- Analyse software defects and fix them in a timely manner
- Work closely with Development and Quality Assurance teams
Your Skills And Experience
The role is responsible for gathering requirements, analyzing them, and preparing functional technical design documents. You will work closely with the development team to build critical components, ensuring their implementation aligns with our end-state architecture. This position also ensures the development team aligns with business needs and delivers quality software. This is a hands-on role requiring experience in test-driven development.
Professional Requirements:
Must Have
- Understanding of Banking domain, especially Front Office business
- Understanding of securities and derivatives trade lifecycle/payments is a plus
- Familiarity with restructuring products
- Experience leading project implementations
- Experience handling projects independently
- Strong demonstrable experience of working with the business
Nice to Have
- Experience in developing distributed, high-throughput, highly available, scalable systems
- Experience gathering basic performance measures of applications
- Ability to align functional solutions to the target architecture
- Ability to focus and prioritize in a high-pressure environment
- Extensive experience of formal business & functional process analysis
- Embraces using unit/integration testing as a standard development practice
- Experience in agile software development & Test Automation

Education/ Qualifications
Degree in Finance, Computer Science, or Software Engineering, or equivalent computer degree from an accredited college or university (or equivalent diploma/work experience).
