About the role
Business Analyst AVP
Deutsche Bank is seeking a Business Functional Analyst, AVP, to join their team in Pune, India. This role is responsible for analyzing requirements and requests from the Documentary Trade business, identifying and assessing change needs, and documenting requirements.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Elicit and manage functional requirements collaboratively with stakeholders like consumers, ITPO, Scrum Master, architect, and delivery leads in an agile and iterative manner.
- Create end-to-end functional flows, document user stories, refine them with Acceptance Criteria, and liaise with development teams for prioritization and delivery.
- Ensure appropriate granularity of user stories through slicing techniques for estimation and completion within a single sprint.
- Provide necessary clarifications on requirements to team members and support the agile process through backlog grooming, sprint planning, and QA.
- Support testing requirements in collaboration with the QA Team.
- Assist in the design and conceptualization of new business solution options, articulating identified impacts and risks.
- Ensure Product Backlog Items meet the Definition of Ready before entering the Sprint Backlog.
- Collaborate with the Scrum Master to ensure a proper number of items enter the Sprint Backlog.
- Support Business Analysis Specialists and Product Owners in prioritizing change requests.
- Outline the business value of each requirement and continuously engage with Engineering, POs, and Journey experts to ensure development alignment.
- Provide domain and functional expertise as required, ensuring development activities reflect the product vision.
- Work with engineers to prioritize, troubleshoot, and resolve reported bugs, issues, and stories on applications.
- Drive data discovery, sourcing, modeling, and analytics to support the creation of data flows and models, including researching and profiling data sources.
- Define Non-Functional Requirements.
- Contribute to Communities of Practices relevant to the Functional Analyst/Product Owner role.
Your Skills And Experience
- 10+ years of experience with exposure in Trade Finance, Core Banking, and/or Payments domain.
- Good understanding of banking products, business, and operational processes is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle PL/SQL and familiarity with core/private banking platforms like Finacle/Avaloq are preferred.
- Experience working with Product Owners and Stakeholders, maintaining product backlogs, and driving release content through prioritized stories.
- Familiarity with Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
- Ability to work in a matrix organization with stakeholders across geographies.
- Understanding of executing projects in agile (scrum) methodology.
- Experience in conceptualization and solution definition.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify and interpret stakeholder needs and requirements.
- Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work autonomously in a virtual team and matrix/global organization, appreciating different cultures.
